History
Ludo is initially a children’s game called Pachisi, an ancient Indian game. Uckers also follows the same route but was played by the royal navy.
Equipment
A typical Ludo playing board is square in shape with a cross in the middle. Each arm of the cross is divided into three columns of eight squares. The square in the middle is the home, and the home is divided into 4 colors, each for one section. The corners hold the main circuit where the game is supposed to start from.
The starting square, the starting circle, the home triangle, and all the home column squares are colored to match the corresponding pieces.
How to play
Each player first picks a color, red, blue, yellow or green, and places them in the corresponding color square. A dice is used to determine who will go first. Players start clockwise and take turns to throw the die. The player that gets the highest number starts the game. The highest number is usually 6. If a player gets a 6, he or she should move one of their pieces to the first tile on the track. Then they are allowed to move 6 squares around the circuit, beginning with the start square they are assigned to.
At each throw, the player decided which piece he or she wants to move. The piece should move clockwise around the track, and the movement of the piece is determined by the die number. If the number of moves can no longer be legally made, then the turn passes over to the next player.
If the player gets a 6, they get another turn.
If one piece lands on another piece of a different color, the piece that has been caught should move back to the starting square.
How to Win
In these real money games, when any one piece has circled the entire board, it can now proceed up the home column of their respective color. You will only get to the main home triangle if you throw the exact number needed to pass the tiles.
The first person to achieve all 4 of their pieces into their respective home triangle, wins the game.
I really like it when individuals come together and share thoughts. Great blog, continue the good work!
